Who's Who

Jenny Stockman

Jenny Stockman, ESBC Chair

Jenny is all about COOPERATION

She is an energetic, creative and committed business professional with over 25 years of experience setting up, managing, working in and on business ventures. Jenny has since moved on to pastures new splitting her focus between developing a unique, regional youth employability programme and some niche events delivery.

An active member of the local business and leadership community, Jenny was Chair of Suffolk Coast Business and Framlingham Business Association and continues to play an active role in these forums. She founded and managed the Suffolk Business Hub, chaired HCMTI and volunteered with the Young Enterprise initiative for a number of years.

Her true passion lies in sharing her experience with young people, helping them create meaningful, fulfilling and exciting career pathways for themselves.

Sue Hall

Sue Hall, ESBC Vice Chair

Sue builds business networks, and gives back wherever she can. Sue is all about CONSTRUCTION.

One of the reasons Sue started her own business was to be in charge of her own time instead of other people dictating her schedule... That business is now a very successful domestic cleaning business, ranged across 31 Suffolk postcodes and providing work for local people.

Going her own way also enabled her to help other small independent businesses, female run and start up enterprises and she also lends her expertise to a few local charities and mentors local students in school and colleges, equipping them to face the working world.

Sue established a successful women’s group (part of the Women in Rural Enterprise network) in Suffolk and though she has now handed the reins over to three of her WiRE members, she is now a National WiRE Ambassador.

Peter Basford

Peter Basford, Director

Peter is a COLLABORATOR

Throughout a 30+ year long career in the banking sector, Peter always got the biggest “buzz” from helping and supporting others, whether that was colleagues or clients.

He now works as a coach, mentor and non-exec director – whatever is needed to help you or your business grow.

He’s also a business development expert, and through an extensive network, connects and helps businesses grow by coaching, supporting, mentoring, energising and leading – he has particular expertise with financial services advisers, team leaders, employee engagement, customer contact planning and sustainable marketing strategies.

Peter has also set up an Innovation Lab in central Suffolk, and is about to open more across the county (including two in East Suffolk). He supports tech start-ups too and is shortly to run Peer to Peer business mentoring for the New Anglia LEP just as soon as he can get it started.

James Robbins

James Robbins, Director

James likes a CHALLENGE

James is a renowned local solicitor with over 25 years’ practice experience.

Beginning his career at Westhorp Ward & Catchpole, which subsequently merged with Birketts and then Birketts, James joined Marshall Hatchick as a partner in 2007 and works out of Marshall Hatchick LLP’s Saxmundham office. He prides himself on providing expert legal knowledge in a friendly approachable style – combining modern day thinking with traditional values.

James specialises in commercial and residential property matters, including commercial leases. And his “challenging” portfolio includes acting for many large businesses such as property developers, private landlords, investment companies, charities, high street retail businesses and construction firms.

Of course, the great thing about “challenges” is they’re easy if you have the right connections. Since James has lived and worked in Suffolk all his life, he consequently seems to know just about everyone!

A very keen soccer player, James now coaches a local youth football team. That’s a real challenge!

Let James tackle your property challenges
